Nafisa (LCA Lab) and Nafiseh (Shafiee-Jood Lab) combined efforts to present a poster at the CEE Graduate Research Symposium in February 2024. The goal of their work is to understand WHERE (which counties) and at WHAT scale (tonnes/year) various carbon dioxide removal (CDR) platforms could be implemented in Virginia based on cost, resource availability, and other factors. The work is part of the Climate Resilience Initiative (CRI) sponsored by UVA’s Environmental Institute. The team’s poster was awarded first-prize at the event!
